• Elihu Yale, the son of Welsh immigrant parents, founded Yale University. He is buried in Wales in the churchyard of Wrexham Parish Church.
• 16 of the signatories of the US Declaration of Independence were of Welsh descent.
• Frank Lloyd Wright, designer of the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and one of the most admired architects of the 20th century, had parents of Welsh descent.
